Job Description Job Description Position Summary The RN/LVN
assists the Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and Medical Assistants
in providing quality care as delegated. This position is Monday -
Friday from 8:00am- 6:30pm and rotating every other Saturday.
Position Relationship Responsible to: Practice
Administrator/Partners Workers Supervised: None Interrelationships:
Works closely with patients, their families, physicians, employers,
insurance companies, and co-workers. Responsibilities and
Authorities · Provides and facilitates the delivery of efficient,
safe and effective patient care. · Demonstrates adequate knowledge
of pharmacology and follows proper procedures for dispensing
medications, samples, and calling in prescriptions. · Adheres to
infection control policies and techniques of handling body
substances and uses universal precautions on all patients. ·
Responds appropriately in urgent and/or emergency situations. ·
Uses tactful, appropriate communications in sensitive and emotional
situations. · Effectively and accurately use Electronic Medical
Records charting software. · Demonstrates ability to perform
technical skills accurately and within a reasonable time frame. ·
Prioritizes and implements quality patient care, demonstrating
effective time management. · Participates in the education of
patient, family, and significant others. · Seeks guidance and
direction as necessary for successful performance of
responsibilities; relates all patient care questions outside the
RN’s/LVN's scope of responsibility to the Provider. · Demonstrates
good verbal and written communication skills; documents and reports
clearly and concisely. · Ensures that inventory of necessary
supplies and equipment is maintained for diagnostic and treatment
procedures. · Excels in all aspects of job performance and holds
themselves accountable for their actions. · Performs scheduling
referrals including pre-certifications, reporting, medicine
refills, and patient education. · Performs other duties as assigned
by the Partner/Provider/Practice Administrator. · Promotes Customer
Service. · Performs essential functions with or without reasonable
accommodations. · Utilizes decision-making skills to participate in
the effective management of patient and system problems. · Utilizes
effective interpersonal skills in interactions. · Participates in
achieving clinic and patient goals. · Delegates appropriate tasks
to non-licensed nursing personnel as needed. Qualifications ·
Education: Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse/Licensed
Vocational Nurse by the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of
Texas · Training and Experience: Minimum of six months experience
working as an RN/LVN; one year of experience in a Pediatric office
setting preferred. Bilingual abilities desirable but not mandatory.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions · Must be able to work
under stressful conditions. · Potential exposure to hazardous
substances and disease. · May have varied work hours. · Must be
able to perform /withstand: Sustained sitting at a desk. Use of
computer and telephones all day. Periodic standing and walking. The
