in Midland, Texas, 79701! Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession:

PACU preferred, all surgeries except hearts License: Active nursing
license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIH Must-Have: -
Experience recovering patients from Plastics, Urology, Dental, GYN
surgeries - Experience with pediatrics and critical care preferred
- Ability to monitor patients with nerve blocks, chest tube
insertions, central lines, intubation, and A-lines Description: The
position requires a Registered Nurse in the Post-Anesthesia Care
Unit. Candidates must possess BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIH
certifications. Call duties are required. Experience with various
surgeries, excluding heart surgeries, is preferred. Candidates
should have experience in pediatric and critical care settings. The
role involves assisting with coverage in Pre-Operative services.
The nurse will be required to recover patients across a broad age
range, from infants to elderly patients. Interdisciplinary support
includes respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology,
rapid response teams, and pharmacy. It is essential to be
adaptable, as the position may involve floating between
pre-operative holding and PACU, though floating to other
departments is not required. The unit has a daily census of
approximately 30 patients and includes 21 beds capable of
accommodating diverse medical needs. Candidates should be familiar
with managing arterial lines, dysrhythmia recognition, blood
product administration, and care of ventilated patients. The
nursing staff should be skilled in post-epidural management and
pain assessment. It is critical to demonstrate competency in the
administration of narcotics, opioid analgesics, and reversal
agents. Familiarity with monitoring protocols such as the Richmond
Agitation Sedation Scale is necessary. Candidates should have
experience in various surgical disciplines including ENT, general
surgery, gynecology, neurosurgery, ophthalmology, orthopedics, and
vascular surgery. All candidates will undergo a drug screening
process as part of the hiring protocol. The selected candidate will
be expected to work some holidays as part of their assignment. 5
