Job Description:

Encompass Health seeks a dedicated Nutrition Assistant to join our healthcare team, dedicated to providing superior dietary services in a hospital setting. As part of our Food & Beverage Operations, you will play a crucial role in implementing patient-specific nutritional plans, aiding in the recovery and health maintenance of patients across our facilities. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, a passion for healthcare, and a deep understanding of dietary needs in a post-acute care environment. Assist in the preparation and delivery of meals according to patient dietary requirements and preferences. Collaborate with dietitians and healthcare personnel to formulate individualized care plans. Monitor patient food intake and report progress and/or concerns to the nutrition team. Educate patients and families about proper nutritional care as per the treatment plan. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of food service areas and equipments. Proficient in dietary education and meal planning Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Knowledge of hygiene and safety regulations in food handling Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance 401k Food Handler's Certification preferred Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) or similar is a plus but not required
