Job Description:

Encompass Health Corporation is seeking a dedicated and skilled Respiratory Therapist (Registered Respiratory Therapist - RRT) to join our team of healthcare professionals. At Encompass Health, we provide high-quality, facility-based, and home-based patient care through our extensive network of inpatient rehabilitation hospitals and home health agencies. Our Respiratory Therapists play a vital role in both settings, helping patients with various respiratory conditions to improve their quality of life. The ideal candidate for this position should be compassionate, detail-oriented, and proficient in managing respiratory illnesses, utilizing both traditional and advanced therapies to facilitate patients' recovery. Assess patients' breathing disorders and recommend appropriate treatments. Administer and manage inhalants, operate mechanical ventilators and aerosol generators. Conduct physical examinations and diagnostic tests. Provide emergency care, including artificial respiration, external cardiac massage, and assistance with cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Develop and implement patient care plans and therapies, adjust as needed. Educate patients and families about lung health and disease prevention. Collaborate with healthcare teams to assess, plan, and administer patient care. Proficiency in ventilator management Strong understanding of pulmonary function tests Use of aerosol generators Ability to handle respiratory emergencies Excellent patient assessment skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills Detail-oriented and compassionate care provision Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance 401k Current RRT Credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) Valid state license Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
