Job Description:

Encompass Health is seeking a dedicated Dietary Cook to join our food services team, ensuring the provision of high-quality meals that cater to the specific dietary requirements of our patients. The ideal candidate will be integral in supporting our mission to deliver cost-effective and integrated post-acute healthcare by preparing nutritionally adequate meals in a hospital setting. This role requires a compassionate understanding of patient needs and a strong commitment to precision and hygiene in a fast-paced environment. Prepare dietary-specific meals for patients based on nutritional guidelines and individual requirements. Collaborate with healthcare providers and dietitians to understand and implement patient-specific dietary plans. Maintain cleanliness and compliance with food safety regulations in all food preparation and storage areas. Monitor kitchen inventory and cooperate with the food services team to order supplies. Ensure all kitchen equipment and tools are properly sanitized and in good working condition. Assist in developing new menu options that meet health standards and patient preferences. Proficiency in various cooking techniques and kitchen equipment. Strong understanding of nutrition and dietary needs in a healthcare setting. Excellent communication and coordination skills to effectively work in a team. Ability to comply with strict hygiene and health and safety standards. Capacity to manage time efficiently under tight schedules. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance 401k Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) is preferred. Food Handler's Certification.
