Job Description:
Encompass Health is seeking a dedicated Food Service Cook to
join our healthcare team, focused on providing high-quality,
cost-effective culinary services. As a national leader in
integrated healthcare services, we pride ourselves on excellent
patient care across our facilities in 42 states. In this role, you
will be integral to our commitment by preparing nutritious, safe,
and satisfying meals that support the health and recovery of our
patients. You will collaborate with dieticians and healthcare
providers to customize meals that meet dietary requirements and
preferences. Prepare meals following prescribed recipes and dietary
restrictions. Ensure all meals are prepared safely, and kitchen
hygiene rules are followed. Coordinate with healthcare
professionals to meet specific patient dietary needs. Monitor
kitchen inventory and collaborate with food service management for
supply ordering. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the
kitchen at all times. Knowledge of therapeutic diets and nutrition
Proficient in kitchen equipment handling Strong understanding of
sanitation regulations Ability to follow recipes and adapt when
needed Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance 401k
ServSafe Food Handler certification required. Certified Dietary
Manager (CDM) certification is a plus.
