Job Description:
Encompass Health is seeking a dedicated Nutrition Services Cook
to join our healthcare team. This role is critical in preparing
nutritious and appetizing meals tailored to patient needs. The
ideal candidate will have a passion for food service and a
commitment to upholding the highest standards in healthcare dining.
As a Nutrition Services Cook at Encompass Health, you will have the
opportunity to impact patient recovery directly and contribute to a
culture of health and wellness. Prepare meals in accordance with
prescribed resident diet specifications, facility procedures, and
dietary and sanitary regulations under the supervision of the
Dietary Manager. Ensure the use of proper food handling techniques
to prevent food contamination. Collaborate with dietitians and
healthcare team to meet the nutritional and dietary needs of
patients. Participate in regular kitchen inventory checks,
maintaining adequate supplies for meal production. Follow
standardized recipes while also being able to creatively use
resources when necessary. Regularly inspect equipment and kitchen
areas to ensure cleanliness and functional operation. Knowledge of
proper food handling and preparation techniques. Ability to read
and follow standardized recipes. Capable of lifting at least 50
pounds. Strong communication and organizational skills. Proficient
in maintaining a clean and organized kitchen. Medical Insurance
