Job Description:

Encompass Health Corporation, a leader in facility-based and home-based patient care, is seeking a dedicated Cook to join our team in the Food & Beverage Operations department. This role is pivotal in providing high-quality, nutritious meals essential for the recovery and well-being of patients across our network of inpatient rehabilitation hospitals. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for cooking along with a commitment to health and safety standards, contributing directly to our mission of setting the standard in comprehensive, integrated care. Prepare, season, and cook dishes such as soups, meats, vegetables, or desserts in our healthcare facilities. Ensure ingredients and final products are fresh. Follow recipes and presentation specifications as set by the hospital management. Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently. Maintain a clean kitchen and work area, adhering to health and safety regulations. Assist in the inventory management and ordering of food supplies. Collaborate with healthcare staff to meet the nutritional needs and dietary restrictions of patients. Proficient in various cooking techniques and kitchen equipment. Strong understanding of sanitation regulations. Time management and organizational skills. Ability to follow recipes and presentation guidelines. Knowledge of basic nutrition and dietary restrictions. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance 401k ServSafe Food Handler certification is preferred. Culinary training or apprenticeship is an asset.
