Mechanic

NEW Sign-On Bonus Program at Sunoco Logistics! Sunoco LP will pay eligible drivers and mechanics a sign-on bonus in the increments listed below:



Bonus potential:

• $5,000 for drivers with 18 months to 3 years of verifiable experience and mechanics with 2-3 years of verifiable experience.
  
• $7,500 for drivers or mechanics with 3-5 years of verifiable experience
  
• $10,000 for drivers or mechanics with 5 years of verifiable experience

  Job Summary:
  
  Diagnose, maintenance, and repair problems on the major components and systems such as:
  
  • Engine
    
  • Brake System
    
  • Transmission
    
  • Air System
    
  • Differential
    
  • Electrical System
    Perform, repair, and preventative maintenance work on the following items, both tractor and trailer:
    
    • Brakes
      
    • Cab
      
    • Engine
      
    • Fifth Wheel
      
    • Transmission
      
    • Delivery Equipment
      
    • Suspensions
      
    • AC and Air Systems
      
    • Clutch
      
    • Tires/Axles/Wheels
      Other Responsibilities:
      
      
      • Diagnose and troubleshoot problems with major components
        
      • Maintain accurate records of P.M. services and repair work
        
      • Perform occasional road service
        
      • Schedule work through the shop to maintain P.M. schedule, scheduled repair work, and State and Federal vehicle inspections
        
      • Oversee repair work done by outside vendors
        
      • Perform running repairs, P.M. services, State and Federal Inspections Tractors, Trailers, and Straight Trucks
        Requirements:
        
        
        • Experience dealing with parts and service vendors
          
        • Maintaining vehicle maintenance records, state inspections and P.M. scheduling
          
        • Must have a HS diploma or GED
          
        • Class A CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements
          
        • Minimum of three years of experience in heavy truck and trailer maintenance and repair
          
        • Working knowledge of the systems and components listed above
          
        • Perform Skilled Mechanical duties involving operations, troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing natural gas engines, compressors, generators and other power driven equipment.
          
        • Inspect engines, compressors and mechanical equipment: diagnose problems and determine extent of necessary repairs; perform repairs and routine preventative maintenance.
          
        • Maintain compressor logs, diaries, oil sampling and inventories of parts, equipment, lube oils and coolants.
          
        • Able to maintain operating statistic utilizing condition monitoring programs.
          
        • General upkeep of facilities and equipment including: engines/compressors, company vehicle and shop
          
        • Able to support existing on call schedule, some overtime is required.
          
        • Must be team oriented, self-motivated with a strong commitment to safety, compliance, and environmental policies.
          
        • Must be able to work weekends, and fallow an on-call rotational schedule. Subject 24-7 call outs.
          
          
          Bonus potential:
          • $5,000 for drivers with 18 months to 2 years of verifiable experience and mechanics with 2 years of verifiable experience .
          • $7,500 for drivers or mechanics with 2+ to 3 years of verifiable experience
          • $10,000 for drivers or mechanics with 3+ years of verifiable experience The incremental sign on bonus quarterly payout schedule is as follows for eligible drivers and mechanics:
            • Payment 1 25% of bonus paid in first paycheck after verification of experience within the first six weeks of active employment
            • Payment 2 25% of bonus paid in the pay cycle following completion of 90 days of active employment
            • Payment 3 25% of bonus paid in the pay cycle following completion of 6 months of active employment
            • Payment 4 25% of bonus paid in the pay cycle following completion of 1 year of active employment *Drivers or mechanics involved in a spill, accident, safety violation, or a vehicular related incident forfeit any unpaid sign on bonus amounts*
